PUBLIC INVITED TO FREE COMMUNITY MIXER TO CELEBRATE HEALTH EXPRESS MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION SERVICE

Roseville, CA – The public is invited to a free mixer announcing the continuation and expansion of Health Express, a low-to-no cost transportation service for medically related appointments in Western Placer County. Hosted by Placer Collaborative Network and Health Express, the mixer will take place Wednesday, May 6, from 5:30pm – 7:30pm at Blueline Gallery in Roseville.

Refreshments will be served along with updates about Health Express and its importance to the community from Placer Supervisor Jim Holmes, Roseville Mayor Gina Garbolino and Keith Nesbitt, Chair of Western Placer Consolidated Transportation Service Agency (CTSA).

“Transportation to medical appointments is a critical issue for our older residents, those with disabilities, the uninsured, and others who simply can’t afford it,” stated Celia McAdam, Executive Director of the Placer County Transportation Planning Agency, which runs the Western Placer CTSA. “Health Express service is made possible through a unique partnership that combines scarce transportation dollars from both public and private sectors and makes them go even further. Our private sector partners have truly stepped up to help - and the public benefits.”

The collaborative Health Express two year pilot program started in January 2009 and is already providing more than 500 rides per month. “It is amazing this service can continue and expand in these difficult times. Health Express provides an incredibly valuable service for so many in our communities,” stated Candace Roeder, Executive Director, Seniors First.

The public is encouraged to join the celebration and many of the Health Express riders will be arriving via Health Express. Please RSVP for the event by contacting Alex at Streamline Consulting Group at 530.582.6762 or by email, alex@streamlineimpact.com.

Blueline Gallery is located at 405 Vernon St., Ste. 100, Roseville, CA
